Wedding at California Academy of Sciences

Planning weddings in the San Francisco Bay Area is so much fun, with the diversity of cultures and entertainment here. Last month, our clients Priyanka and Rohan brought their East Coast flair and Indian culture with them to vibrant San Francisco for their beautiful wedding weekend!

The wedding festivities kicked off with a Mendhi party and traditional Sangeet, hosted at Priyanka's parent's lovely home in Los Altos. Decked in bright reds and golds, the backyard of the home became center stage for the party, as over a hundred guests came together to celebrate the wonderful couple.

Amber India Restaurant catered the traditional Indian food, and as the sun began to set, the guests danced the night away!

The late night festivities did not slow down the energy for the bridal party the next morning. Bright and early, Priyanka and her ladies had their hair appointments at Madu Salon in San Francisco, which specializes in curly hair. Then, they completed the rest of the bridal prep at Priyanka's parent's apartment in Russian Hill, where a gorgeous view of the city greeted them.

A stretch limo awaited them downstairs to take them to the extraordinary St. Ignatius Church, where Priyanka and Rohan married under the witness of their closest families and friends.

Following the ceremony, there were a few hours for guests to be on their own, or to hop onto one of the shuttles provided by the couple, to tour around San Francisco landmarks. At promptly 6:30pm, the doors to the magnificent California Academy of Sciences opened, revealing the most unique, extraordinary event space for guests to enjoy.

Guests were first invited to go through the Rainforest, before taking the elevator down to the Aquarium, where cocktail hour was held. While enjoying the hors d'oeurves by Amber India, guests roamed around to view jelly fishes, sharks, and much more! Docents were also available to educate guests, making it a lot more fun and interactive.

Then, guests were led back upstairs to the awe-inspiring African Hall, where they sat down for a sumptuous plated dinner catered by Amber India, with attentive service by the fantastic team at Taste Catering.

After the delicious meal, sentimental toasts, and unlimited penguin viewing in African Hall, guests moved onto to the final festivities of the evening--cake cutting underneath the T-Rex, followed by lots of pies, cakes, and dancing in the Piazza!
