Diana and Kee's Wedding at Asian Art Museum

Last week, I posted some detail shots of Diana and Kee's gorgeous wedding at the Asian Art Museum. They had picked two of our White Label looks to create a modern, yet classic, all-white wedding. Their day started off in Diana's spacious bridal suite at the St. Regis hotel, where Maria Chang and her associates dolled all the ladies up with their talented artistry.

Diana and Kee had their "first look" in the lobby of the St. Regis, before taking their wedding part with them to Nob Hill for a photo session in the heart of San Francisco.

The wedding ceremony was held in the middle of the grand staircase at the Asian Art Museum. Guests witnessed the heartfelt ceremony from the Loggia above, and immediate families had special seating with the best views in the house.

Following the ceremony, Diana and Kee joined their guests in an hour of cocktails and hors d'oeurves in the Loggia, before we revealed the extraordinary Samsung Hall for everyone to be seated for dinner.

The evening continued on with a lovely dinner by Componere Fine Catering, heartwarming toasts, a liquid nitrogen ice cream station, and lots of cake and dancing until the clock struck midnight!

Congratulations Diana and Kee, and we wish you lots of happiness and great adventures together in the years to come...

An All-White Modern Wedding at Asian Art Museum

We are posting yet another gorgeous wedding that we planned at the Asian Art Museum this year! We seriously are so blessed to work there often, as the event space is one large beautiful blank canvas for us to do a multitude of design styles there. In our last post, Danielle and Jonathon's wedding was more vintage, sweet, and romantic. This time, Diana and Kee's wedding couldn't have taken a more different path. It was sophisticated, chic, and modern with a clean, all-white palette.

Diana and Kee loved the idea of our newly launched White Label, a "one stop shop" for wedding decor to include flowers, stationery, wedding cake, and escort card display. They picked Cosmopolitan and Ooh La La, two of the six pre-designed looks by Gloria Wong, and hired Gloria for a few additional consultation hours to help them mix the two together and to customize the look to their liking. They changed the color palette to be all-white, and added a beautiful chiffon canopy over their head table, with crystal chandeliers. It looked amazing in Samsung Hall!

Here's the original Cosmopolitan design, with photos by Lisa Lefkowitz:

After combining elements from both looks, Diana got the wedding design that she loved, seen in the photos below, by Augie Chang Photography!

Each White Label pre-design is aesthetically strong enough to stand on its own, but it's also extremely versatile, which gives clients so many options to customize it to their liking. If you're not able to see beyond each look, you can share your Pinterest board with Gloria so that she can better understand your aesthetics, and help you to play things up with one or more of the White Label looks for it to truly reflect your style.

Next week, we will reveal more eye candy from Diana and Kee's wedding....stay tuned!

The Knot's Weddings of the Year

Woohoo! We just received our copy of The Knot's 2012 Winter Issue, and are ecstatic to see Carolyn and David's wedding featured as one of their "Weddings of the Year"! Be sure to pick up a copy at your local news stand or bookstore, as this is one extra thick issue with lots of beautiful dresses and real weddings to inspire you. We love this dreamy cover shot!

I think due to layout restrictions, they were not able to credit all the wonderful vendors that worked on this amazing wedding. Please click here to see a full list of vendor credits!

Cindy and David's Wedding at Asian Art Museum

We were back at the Asian Art Museum this summer, for Cindy and David's Asian-inspired wedding, working with many of our favorite people in the industry. Though we've produced numerous events there in the past, this was our very first time where we had both the ceremony and reception inside Samsung Hall. Fortunately, the museum now gives clients the option to buyout Samsung Hall for the whole day, which makes it possible to execute a lot of fantastic design ideas that otherwise may have been nixed due to the timing and logistics of the venue.

The wedding was held at the end of July, beginning at the lovely boutique Hotel Vitale, right across from the San Francisco Ferry Building...

Hotel Vitale is one of the best hotels for the bridal party to get ready in. Their circular and terrace suites are extremely spacious, with lots of natural light for beautiful photography and videography. It is conveniently located in the city, and close to many picturesque places nearby. For these reasons, many of our clients choose to stay there for their wedding.

Cindy and David had their "first look" on one of the terraces at the hotel, and they invited all of their bridal attendants to be present for that. It was a a clear and gorgeous day with a panoramic view of the bay right behind them!

They were picked up by a classic cable car trolley, and were whisked off to get some photos in front of San Francisco City Hall, before taking a stroll across civic center park to the red carpet that awaits them at the entrance of Asian Art Museum.

Guests arrived shortly after that, and were invited to walk up the awe-inspiring grand staircase, adorned with orchid-filled branches on modern white pedestals. Ushers passed out programs and ribbon wands before escorting guests to their seats inside Samsung Hall.

Cindy and David were married by their good friend Kathy, witnessed by all 210 of their guests. After sharing their first kiss as husband and wife, they led their guests out to the Loggia, where everyone feasted on elaborate hors d'oeurves created by Componere Fine Catering. The second floor museum galleries were opened for guests' enjoyment, as well as the Magnolia Photobooth (aka Magbooth) that remained busy throughout the evening.

While guests were enjoying the hour of art and libations, we were moving at lightening speed inside Samsung Hall to transform the room for dinner. It really takes a village to flip a room like that in an hour, and we sure had a great village for this wedding!

When we reopened the doors to Samsung Hall to invite guests in for dinner, everyone was in awe at how different the room looked from merely an hour ago.

For the dinner menu, Componere's culinary team started off with an Amuse course of shaved poached prawn, watermelon, mosaic, meyer lemon, and fried mint. The first course was a cherry tomatoes salad with crispy tofu croutons, compressed cucumber, black pepper candied bacon, opal basicl, and mizuna. For the main entree, guests indulged in a black garlic-red wine braised beef short rib, served with crispy buckwheat noodle cake and broccolini.

As if that wasn't enough, Componere set up their famous Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream Bar after dinner, featuring ice cream made to order with -320 degree liquid nitrogen. Guests had a blast building their own sundaes there!

Ofcourse, to help guests work off all that extra calorie, DJ Jason Mitchell was kept busy all night long playing music that kept the dance floor crowded. During the dancing, Componere even passed out Momofuku Pork Buns to keep the energy high! Cindy and David stayed till the very end to bid their guests farewell, before retiring back to their lovely suite at Hotel Vitale...

Congratulations, Cindy and David, and thank you for including us in your memorable event!
